Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and ScopeGrade (“we”, “us”) for using scopegrade.com, the ScopeGrade apps and tools (together, “ScopeGrade”). By creating an account or using ScopeGrade, you agree to them. If you use ScopeGrade for a company, you confirm you can bind that company, and “you” includes it.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

ScopeGrade helps homeowners, property buyers and contractors plan projects, review quotes, find each other, run bids and manage work. We provide the software and the marketplace.

We are not a party to your project. Any agreement to do work is between the homeowner or buyer and the contractor. We don’t perform, supervise or guarantee work, and we aren’t responsible for its quality, price, timing, permits or safety.

We don’t vouch for users beyond what we say we checked. Profiles, scorecards and reviews reflect what users and our tools report. Where a profile shows a verification badge, ScopeGrade checked that specific item (for example, a liability policy or a licence) on the date shown. It is not a guarantee of the contractor or the work. Check references, scope and permits yourself before hiring or accepting work.

Quote scores, risk flags, price ranges, estimates, takeoffs, renders and Scout’s answers are produced automatically, often by AI, and can be incomplete or wrong. They are general information to help you ask better questions — not legal, engineering, financial, code-compliance or other professional advice. Confirm anything important with a qualified professional, and review AI-drafted documents before you send or sign them.

• You must be at least 18 and give accurate information.
• Keep your login secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account, including by crew or team members you add.
• Tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused.

You keep ownership of what you upload or create — quotes, photos, projects, bids, documents and messages (“your content”).

You give us permission to host, copy, process, display and send your content only as needed to run ScopeGrade for you — for example, to analyse a quote, show your project to contractors, deliver your bid or publish the profile you choose to make public. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that others already received through the service.

You confirm you have the right to upload your content, including other people’s details in quotes, client records or crew records, and that doing so is lawful.

You agree not to:

• post false, misleading or fraudulent projects, bids, profiles or reviews;
• contact users to harass them, or use their information for anything other than the project at hand;
• try to see sealed bids, other users’ data or areas you aren’t given access to;
• upload malware or content that is illegal or infringes someone else’s rights;
• scrape, overload, reverse engineer or disrupt ScopeGrade, or get around its limits;
• resell or copy ScopeGrade, or use it to build a competing service.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules or put others at risk.

Buyers set the rules for their own RFPs, including deadlines, requirements and how bids are evaluated, and they decide who to award. Sealed bids are hidden from other bidders until the buyer’s rules allow otherwise. We don’t guarantee that any project or RFP will be awarded, or that any contractor will respond.

• Prices, billing periods and what each plan includes are shown on our pricing page and at checkout. Taxes are added where they apply.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• You can cancel from your billing settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• Unless the law requires otherwise, payments already made are not refundable.
• We’ll give you notice before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.
• Payments contractors collect from their own clients through ScopeGrade (such as deposits) are between the contractor and their client.

We’re continually improving ScopeGrade and may add, change or remove features. We aim to keep it available but don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything important.

You can stop using ScopeGrade and ask us to close your account at any time through our contact form. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or exposes us to legal liability; where reasonable we’ll tell you why first. Sections that by their nature should continue — such as disclaimers, liability limits and disputes — survive.

To the extent the law allows, ScopeGrade is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, or for anything arising from work performed or agreements made between users.

Our total liability for any claim related to ScopeGrade is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CA$100.

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your project or work, or your breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Subject to any rights you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live, the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use ScopeGrade after that means you accept the updated terms.
